Just spoke to a VP in the HSA division. You can ask for monthly maintenance fees to be waived if your balances are large enough. Bank of America Health Representative stated that in order to get the monthly balance waived, one needs to be a Wealth Management or Private Banking customer. BoA just closed my HSA account.

They will use any and every excuse to avoid paying a claim or just not paying at all and stone-walling you. What a pain in the butt. DO NOT use BOA for your HSA. Their website is horrible and if you ever move your money to cash, they will automatically reinvest it for you if you have set to automatically invest deposits. The website is awful to use, nothing like their normal consumer banking website. Also their staff responds quickly to help tickets but does not resolve any issues during their response.

It feels like their customer service is graded on their response time, not content. There may be worse HSA custodians out there, but BOA is giving them a run for their money. This HSA account sucks! They lost my transactions and suddenly decided they will no longer make payments using Instamed through my insurance provider. Want to report them to the Federal Banking Commission — sounds like illegal banking practices to me.

Bank of America fees you to death! Their investment options are passable. The other options are pretty crappy. One nice thing is that they auto-sweep the funds so that you can maintain the minimum 1, automatically without having to login all the time to move your money to the investment options. Bank of America sucks all around though. Bank of Screw over America would be a better name.

BOA is my custodial account provider. I invest the rest. They did have some ok options, though they are in the process of getting rid of all 3 of their Vanguard Funds and replacing them with Blackrock By March 17, Not sure why people are worried about a closing fee as you should just be sticking with one bank anyways. A little more goes into this account and the investments than just setting up a regular bank account.

While I am disappointed that they have removed Vanguard totally from their portfolio — I will probably still use BOA and find other funds to realign my portfolio. The only fees for investing are whatever the invest choice you choose has an expense ratio. Watch those and you should be just fine.

I no longer qualify for HSA because of my age however, my wife is enrolled in a new account opened in her name. I was given wrong information the first time I called, the second time I called I was informed that I could download the rollover form and that all would be taken care of and the third time I called to confirm the information on the form to make sure I was filling it out correctly.

This occurred about a month ago. Today, I contacted HSA to confirm the recent phone call about the rollover and Customer Service confirmed the phone call as being correct. As of this day, my wife has not been able to log into her account to confirm already made contributions to her newly HSA account.

BOA HSA is like going back in time- My previous non-BOA HSA account was picture perfect. It was connected to my Health Insurance and all the needed information was there. Never had to fill in the Medical Provider information to make a payment. I could even select when I wanted the payment to go out. Unfortunately this is all Employer driven. BOA please step up. So our money is in their hands for a week — and we have no access to our own money. Is there any federal agency such a practice could be reported to?

No, the call cut off after just over an hour. Hoping for better luck during normal business hours. Customer service is the worst of any company I have ever dealt with in my life. My distribution was incorrectly reported to the IRS and the response was to call turbotax get a advice from them on how to handle…. Furthermore, I have been hung up on several times trying to resolve this. This is left over from an issue last year that took 3 months to resolve and resulted in several hits to my credit.

The call center is not allowed to follow up with the ridiculously slow team that works your case. Do yourself a favor and get out as soon as you can!

Been on the phone for hours. Their customer support is the absolute worst I have ever seen. The website is so poorly set up and it is extremely difficult to use and not intuitive at all. Basic information is not written and you are left trying to figure out what the selection mean. Website is split into two sides, one for HSA, other for investments.

Investment side is another bank who have no idea they are managing your money and just forward your calls back to BofA. The investment website has no contact info either so good luck. Recently they launched a new platform. It does have more features but its set up terribly. It also disconnected my debit card while the switch happened about two weeks. Now I feel like a beta tester for this new platform and everything that can go wrong has. I already have never been a FAN of BOA but the HSA service is by far the WORSE. I switched by HSA account and transferred my funds from my old BOA HSA to the new UHC HSA. I called bank of america for a copy of the check as UHC never received the money.

They tell me they cant see any electronic copy of the check because it was during their transition when they launched the new platform. That was during my first chat and call. Then i called them again the same day and argued that i need a copy of the check that was sent and the new person decides that since i was a little aggravated now the information was just available to them online.

She tells me she can get the check number and the date and what not but there is absolutely no way for her to get a electronic copy because she doesnt have access. What i didnt seem to understand is that if she is able to view the details on the check why cant she give me an electronic copy.

Then she advises that she will call me back, which mind you every single person i have spoken to so far is suppose to do but i dont get a single call from anyone.

I wait the 48 hours and then call again and they tell me i need to wait business days for the physical copy to be mailed to be!!!!!!!! None of the customer service reps know what they are talking about because clearly i got 3 different answers from different people everytime i called on the same day. If there is a way you can opt out and use another bank please save yourself the headache and do so.
